If you’re going to be skiing or snowboarding, it’s very important to get the right travel insurance so that you are covered for emergency medical expenses if you have an accident on the slopes.
You might not want to think about it, but when you are skiing, or snowboarding accidents can and do happen.
Our ski insurance is available for those up to the age of 75 and can cover most pre-existing medical conditions.

Ski insurance cover and benefits
Our winter sports insurance option extends our standard travel insurance to include cover when skiing or snowboarding and also provides some additional winter sports specific benefits:
- Emergency medical and repatriation up to £10 million per person.
Including recovery from the piste by air ambulance if medically necessary. - Personal liability cover when skiing or snowboarding up to £2 million per person
- Ski equipment up to £500 (single article limit of £250)
- Ski hire up to £250
- Ski pack (lift pass & lessons) up to £400
- Piste closure £35 for each 24hrs up to £500
- Avalanche closure £35 for each 24hrs up to £500

Ski insurance FAQ What winter sports activities are covered?
The following winter sports are included when you purchase our winter sports extension:
On piste Skiing, snowboarding, ice skating, big foot skiing, cross country / Nordic skiing, dry slope skiing, sledging, snowmobiling, snow kiting and snow shoeing, for leisure purposes only and not participating in any timed, competitive or off piste/specialist ski/snow board activities.
If you wish to take part in any other winter sports activities, you may be able to find cover under our hazardous activity category C extension, which can be added when you get to the policy options stage of your quotation.
Will ski insurance cover an air ambulance if I am injured on piste?
Yes, if you are injured on the piste whilst skiing or snowboarding or taking part in one of the activities listed above, your insurance will cover the costs for recovering you from the piste, including by air ambulance if it is deemed medically necessary.
Am I covered for personal liability if I cause an accident when skiing?
Yes, if you purchase the winter sports option you will be covered for personal liability when skiing up to £2 million per person.
