Travel insurance for cruise holidays
When you get a quote for travel insurance with us you will be asked ‘Are you going on a cruise?’. If you select yes, our optional cruise extension will be automatically included in your quote, providing these additional benefits:
• Cabin confinement cover
• Missed port departure protection
• Itinerary change compensation
• Unused excursions reimbursement
• Cruise interruption cover
You can remove the extension on the Additional Cover Options page, where you’ll also see the premium. Without it, standard cover still applies and you will be covered to go on a cruise holiday, but you won’t receive these extra benefits.

Yes, absolutely. While we specialise in travel insurance for over 80s and medical conditions, our policies can cover travelling companions of all ages. We highly recommend insuring your entire holiday party on the same policy so that everyone is protected if the trip needs to be cancelled or cut short due to an unexpected medical emergency.
We can consider all types of pre-existing medical conditions. Our policies regularly cover chronic and common senior health conditions, including high blood pressure, heart disease, diabetes, arthritis, COPD, and cancer (including those currently undergoing treatment or in remission).
Our single-trip travel insurance has no upper age limit and can cover a single holiday for up to 94 days in duration. This makes it ideal for older travellers planning extended winter sun breaks or long family visits abroad.
Yes. We offer annual multi-trip policies with no upper age limit. This covers an unlimited number of holidays within a 12-month period, provided that each individual trip does not exceed 31 days.
Yes, we offer specialist cruise cover extensions for travellers over 80. This provides tailored protection for cruise-specific issues, such as emergency cabin confinement, missed port departures, and increased limits for emergency medical evacuation at sea.
Unlike many standard insurers, Total Travel Protection can often provide cover if you are currently on a waiting list for a diagnosed condition, as long as your prognosis is stable and meet our policy criteria. Please speak to our team or use our online medical screening tool for a tailored quote.
