Travel insurance for high blood pressure - FAQ
Why do I have to declare high blood pressure when I purchase travel insurance?
It is crucial to declare any existing medical conditions, including high blood pressure, when you buy travel insurance. This ensures you will have the appropriate cover should you require emergency medical treatment during your holiday. It also ensures you will be covered for cancellation should you become ill prior to your holiday.
If you don’t declare your medical conditions in full you could find that your claim is declined or not paid in full if your claim is related to an existing medical condition.
My blood pressure is controlled by medication, do I still need to declare it?
Yes. If you are taking medication to control high blood pressure you need to declare it to us.
How do you work out how much it will cost to cover my high blood pressure?
There are four elements which determine how much travel insurance for high blood pressure will cost. These are: your age, your travel destination, how long you are travelling for and the details of your high blood pressure and any other existing medical conditions you may have.
Each of these elements contributes to the potential that you will need to make a claim and also influence how much the claim could be for.
